At Redlands Aikikai, we host a variety of events throughout the year, including workshops with guest instructors, special classes focusing on unique techniques, and community gatherings to enhance your martial arts practice. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced practitioner, there’s something for everyone.
These workshops seek to transmit the principles and practice of Saotome Shihan’s teachings with bokken and jo.
Workshop 1:
Saturday, May 16, 2026
Time: Session 1: 10:00 am - 12:30 pm
Session 2: 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Cost: $30 per session; $50 whole day
Pre-requisite: Sword solo attack and first partner form (shomen-do-yokomen-ashi-kote-tsuki, or similar). Students enrolling in the workshop can attend a prior Sunday at 10:30 am to practice this form.
10:00 am - 12:30 pm: Awase and Selections from Kumitachi 1-5 and variations
2:30 pm - 5:00 pm: Selections from Kumitachi 6-15
